Frequently, Asked Questions

What is meant by "same-day settlement"?

When your application for ALLPS-POS services has been approved, a Mercantile AET Bank Account will be opened in the name of your business. All the proceeds from the POS devices will first be settled into your Mercantile AET Bank Account before being transferred to your commercial bank account.

The Mercantile AET (Automated Electronic Transfer) Bank Account is a bank account that automatically transfers all the available funds on a daily basis from the Mercantile AET Bank Account to the commercial bank account of your choice.

"Same-day settlement" occurs because the transfers take place daily at 12:00, Monday to Friday, and at 07:30 on Saturdays. The funds received after these times will be eligible for transfer the following business day.

Does the Mercantile AET Bank Account cost extra?

No. All the costs associated with the Mercantile AET Bank Account and the daily transfers are included in the ALLPS-POS monthly rental fee.

Can the ALLPS-POS devices accept all kinds of cards?

Yes. The ALLPS-POS devices accept both chip and magstripe cards and can perform both debit and credit card transactions. Cards can be accepted for VISA, Mastercard, Diners, and AMEX.

What type of user training is provided?

An Intecon Consultant will assist you with the installation and setup of the device and will provide device and system training for all persons responsible for using the devices at no additional costs to your business.

Can I buy an ALLPS-POS device?

No. ALLPS-POS devices are rented at a fixed cost on a monthly basis. POS devices have a limited lifespan, which is why we rent our devices in order to eliminate the need for you to buy a new device once yours expires. Our rental fees include device maintenance and insurance and therefore, in the event that your device expires, malfunctions, or gets stolen, the device will be replaced.

Can the Countertop POS device integrate with any business management system?

Yes. Both the Wireless and Countertop POS devices have integration capabilities.

Can the Wireless POS device be used outdoors?

Yes. The Wireless POS Device uses a data SIM to connect to your mobile network, meaning that the device will be able to perform card transactions from any location where there’s network coverage. There are no additional costs for data connectivity as the device is supplied with an APN SIM Card. The APN SIM can only connect to Intecon and thus provides a prevention measure against potential abuse.

Why is it important to keep up to date with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)?

The purpose of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) is to reduce the risks associated with card transactions and to protect card data. If your devices are not up to date with the PCI DSS requirements, you could face severe penalties and fines for being non-compliant and for jeopardising card transaction data security.
